Conversations over Cocktails – Guide to COVID-19 Alternative Care Sites

As a member of the American Institute of Architect’s COVID-19 Alternative Care Site’s task force, Yiselle Santos helped to create a preparedness assessment tools to assist individuals—who are not experienced healthcare designers—with evaluating buildings for alternative healthcare operations in a non-healthcare setting during the COVID-19 response. After this webinar, one will learn important areas  to consider when evaluating buildings for alternative care sites and how to better use the COVID-19 Alternative Care Sites Assessment Tool.

Yiselle Santos Rivera, AIA, LSSYB, WELL AP, LEED AP, is a medical planner and the Firmwide Director of Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion at HKS, Inc. With national and international experience on a broad range of healthcare, residential, institutional, and commercial/mixed-use projects, she thrives on building equitable practices, empowering the next generation of leaders, and creating inclusive platforms for engagement. 

Ms. Santos currently serves as the Associate Representative on the AIA National Board and as the AIA DC Chapter Board Secretary. She is also a committee member in the AIA Equity and the Future of Architecture, the New Urban Agenda Taskforce, and the AIA COVID-19 Health Impact Task Force #1. She is a co-founder of the Latin American Interior Designers, Engineers, and Architects (LA.IDEA) DC Committee, current past-Chair of the AIA DC Equity Committee, and founder of “Women Inspiring Emerging Leaders in Design” (WIELD), which received the 2019 AIA Diversity Program Recognition Award.

Yiselle is a published author and has been featured in national Podcasts. She is a storyteller, a 2015 Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program Scholar, and a recipient of the 2018 AIA Associate Award.
